Private Tuition, coaching and mentorship

In 10,000+ hours of tutoring since 2012, the LinkyThinks approach has helped hundreds of children and young adults to achieve their goals, whether in passing entrance exams to top London schools, reaching potential at GCSE and A-level, or in developing revision and organisational techniques through to university level. As well as developing a nurturing and motivational relationship with the student, this approach includes guiding and building confidence in parents, for whom supporting their child’s education can be a stressful and often bewildering process. In both exam-orientated work and general enrichment and support, our ethos is that it never has to be a draining or disillusioning experience - fun, motivation, empowerment, confidence and curiosity can always be found and encouraged.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently taking on new private clients for 1:1 support.

INSET Training and School Workshops

Since 2016, LinkyThinks methods have been brought to schools around the UK. As a certified BPSI (Barnet Partnership for School Improvement) consultant, Alexander works with teachers, tutors and students alike to inject creativity and innovation into the classroom. Our INSET training aims to empower teachers in using their own creativity, building their confidence in areas such as creative writing and applying neuroscientific principles to the enriching of young minds. Alexander’s work as an artist allows a fresh angle on teaching, bringing craft-based skills and material, kinaesthetic techniques to teaching all subjects. We also provide accompanying classroom programmes to the Comprehending Comprehension book/online course and often design bespoke courses and interventions for schools needing focus in a particular area or an injection of new ideas.

Recent Workshops and training days have included the following topics:

  • Creative Teaching For Creative Writing

  • Learning to Learn: How the Brain Can Educate Itself

  • Wiser Reviser: Debunking the Myths of Revision and Organisation

  • Comprehending Comprehension, in School and at Home

  • The ‘Stuff’ of Understanding: Craft-Based Teaching Across All Topics

  • Connecting the Verbal with the Visual: Whole School Writing Task

Resources and Education Design

All LinkyThinks resources are designed with the input of hundreds of students, with each product being tested for maximum educational and enjoyment value. As well as the resources made for LinkyThinks itself, used around the world, Alexander has been commissioned to design educational tools for tuition companies, educational consultancies, schools, charities and corporations. This includes a technology training programme for elderly and disabled people (for Jewish Care), as well as tutor-training videos and creative writing packs (for by JK Educate and The JK Academy). Alexander has provided illustrations for various children’s products, including illustrations and character design for books such as ‘Tiddlypops’ and an ongoing range of educational placemats for SmartMats Ltd. He has also done much work with Electric Umbrella, a charity empowering adults with learning disabilities through music, commissioning him to support a young man with Downs Syndrome to write/direct a Pop-Opera, which sold out the Watford Palace Theatre in July 2018.
