How the Membership Works
Step 1 - Join the Waitlist
Tell us your child’s age, school year and the class or classes you feel they need, from Key Stage 2 Creative Writing and Comprehension to KS3 English and GCSE Essay Writing.
Step 2 - Receive an Offer
When your child reaches the top of the list for a suitable class, we’ll contact you with an offer of an available place, term details and a time-limited deadline to secure it.
Step 3 - Pay the £129 Place-Holding Payment
This reserves your child’s place and forms part of the 12 monthly payments for the academic year. It is credited against the final month for families who remain on Membership through the year.
Step 4 - Set up Direct Debit
After paying the place-holding payment, you’ll be redirected to GoCardless to set up your Direct Debit. If you are securing more than one place, you will need to complete a mandate for each place.
Step 5 - Receive Your Class Details
Once the place-holding payment and Direct Debit mandate are complete, we’ll confirm your child’s place and send the full class details, including Zoom links, before term starts.
Step 6 - Continue from Term to Term
Your initial commitment covers two full 10-week terms. After this, Membership continues term by term unless you give written notice before the relevant cancellation deadline (outlined in your offer email).
Important Details
The Membership is designed as an academic-year place.
The full Membership year costs 12 payments of £129, including the initial £129 place-holding payment.
£129 per month (inclusive of VAT), per class place.
Each Membership covers one child’s place on one weekly class.
You can have a child, or multiple children, enrolled in multiple classes.
Places are reserved, not pay-as-you-go.
Membership begins from the start of a term.
We have 3 x ten-week terms (Sep-Nov, Jan-Mar & Apr-Jun) and 1 x 5-week term (Jul-Aug).
There is an initial commitment to two full 10-week terms.
After the first term, Membership continues term by term unless cancelled before the relevant renewal deadline (outlined in your offer email).
If you cancel and later want to rejoin, a £39 rejoining fee applies per child’s place.
Your child’s place is only secure once both the place-holding payment of £129 and Direct Debit mandate are complete.

Membership FAQs
-
No. Families can still book termly where places are available. Membership is designed for families who want continuity, monthly payments and included extras across the year.
-
For families who complete the full 12-month Membership period, no.
The place-holding payment is one of the 12 payments of £129 due for the full Membership year. Once it has been paid, the remaining 11 payments are collected monthly by Direct Debit.
For a Membership beginning in September, the Direct Debit payments are collected from September to July. The original place-holding payment is then applied to the final month of the Membership, so no further payment is collected in August.
The place-holding payment is only credited in this way when the full 12-month Membership period is completed. If you finish after the minimum two-term commitment, it is not refunded or credited against another monthly payment.
-
Your first Direct Debit payment is collected near the beginning of your child’s first term. We will confirm the exact collection schedule when offering your child a place.
Your child’s place is only secured once both the £129 place-holding payment and the GoCardless Direct Debit mandate have been completed.
-
Each Membership covers one child’s guaranteed place in one fixed weekly LinkyThinks class.
The total Membership fee covers 35 weeks of tuition across the LinkyThinks academic year:
Three 10-week tutoring terms
One five-week Summer Holiday term
It also includes access to eligible Parent Seminars, half-term workshops and the LinkyThinks Downloadables library while your Membership remains active.
-
No. Membership is not charged according to the number of lessons taking place in an individual calendar month.
Instead, the cost of 35 weeks of tuition and the included Membership benefits is spread evenly across 12 payments of £129. Monthly payments therefore continue during scheduled holidays and breaks, keeping the payment amount consistent throughout the year.
-
No. If you are securing more than one place, you only need to complete the GoCardless mandate once.
-
The initial commitment is two full 10-week terms.
This is a commitment to complete two teaching terms rather than simply remaining enrolled for a particular number of calendar months. All payments scheduled for the minimum commitment period remain payable.
For a Membership beginning in September, the minimum commitment currently consists of:
One £129 place-holding payment
Six monthly Direct Debit payments of £129
£903 in total
-
You may finish your Membership at the end of the second 10-week term, provided you give us written notice before the published cancellation deadline.
Your child will continue attending until the end of that term. Their class place will then be released and access to Membership benefits will end.
The original £129 place-holding payment will not be refunded or credited against another payment when a Membership finishes after the minimum two-term commitment.
-
You must let us know in writing before the cancellation deadline for the next term.
The relevant deadline will be included in your Membership offer and published alongside our term dates. If notice is received after the deadline, the Membership and associated payments may continue for the following term.
-
Once your Membership finishes, your child’s class place is released and may be offered to another family.
Returning is subject to a suitable place being available. A £39 rejoining fee applies for each class place when re-enrolling after cancelling a Membership.
-
Your child’s place is confirmed once both steps are complete: the £129 place-holding payment and the GoCardless Direct Debit mandate.
-
Holiday Workshops are included as part of Membership, subject to availability and suitability. We’ll share booking details and any relevant access codes with eligible families.
-
No. Membership includes priority access to the 1:1 tutoring waitlist, but 1:1 places are limited and subject to availability.
-
Yes. Termly booking remains available where class places are available.
A 10-week term costs £449 per class place and the five-week Summer Holiday term costs £224.50 per class place.
Termly places are booked separately for each term and are subject to availability. They do not include the ongoing class-place guarantee or the additional Membership benefits.
-
Two 10-week terms booked separately cost £898.
A Membership ending after its minimum two-term commitment costs £903, including the initial place-holding payment and six monthly Direct Debit payments.
The £5 difference includes ongoing access to eligible Membership benefits during that period, including Parent Seminars, half-term workshops and Downloadables. Membership also keeps your child’s place reserved from one term to the next while it remains active.
Families who only want one term at a time may prefer termly booking. Membership is designed for families who value continuity and expect their child to continue with LinkyThinks.
